FABM is developed by Bolding & Bruggeman ApS., formerly Bolding & Burchard ApS.

From 2008 until 2012, development of FABM was funded by the Theme 6 of the EC Seventh Framework Programme through the project MEECE (grant number 212085).

Development of FABM 2.0 was supported by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme through the project SEAMLESS (grant number 101004032).

Development of multithreading functionality (OpenMP-based) in FABM was supported by the project BEST-Siberian, funded by the Research Council of Norway.

Further development of FABM between 2023 and 2026 is supported by Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Actions through the project NECCTON (grant number 101081273).
