Degen (short for degenerate) is a slang term used mostly in crypto and DeFi communities. It describes someone who takes high-risk trades or investments — often without deep research — in hopes of quick profits. Degens usually jump into new tokens, NFTs, or meme coins early, looking for big gains, but the same risky moves can also lead to big losses. In short: 👉 Degen = high risk, high reward investor — driven by hype, speed, and instinct more than analysis.
