[BUG] Memory size doesn't show the number I expect

Description

I have a machine with 64 GiB of RAM installed. Fastfetch displays it as 62.40 GiB.

I tried changing binaryPrefix, thinking it was just a matter of GiB vs GB, but with si I get 67.00 GB, with jedec 62.40 GB.

--format json gives:

Which converted from B to GiB, indeed gives 62.40.

cat /proc/meminfo gives: MemTotal: 65433804 kB

For reference, htop also shows 62.4G.

However, if I go in GNOME Settings, then System > System Details, it displays:

Memory
64.0 GiB

I have no idea why GNOME is the only one that gets it right, and would love for fastfetch to get it right too.

Both are correct. 62.4 GiB is the usable memory size (kernel reserves some memory for internal use), and 64 GiB is the physically installed memory size.

To get the physical memory size, you should use sudo fastfetch -s physicalmemory (root permission is necessary)
