  • Fix misleading UDP failed message.
    • Now, the app displays a success message the first time it receives a packet. Should appear on first stage load.

The beta version comes with dr2ds.ini settings. With it, you can tweak the behavior of each trigger. You can change the force of various effects, choose your trigger preset, etc.

  • Added dr2ds.ini.
    • The file is generated with reasonable defaults the first time you run the app.
    • You can edit the file while the app is running, it will hot reload.

Remember to setup Dirt Rally telemetry if you want the game feedback!

It's Alpha Time Babaaay

Well it's that scary time again; releasing the first version of dr2ds!

I had somewhat left it to the wayside when I saw the EA WRC announcement. I thought they'd have amazing DS5 support in there. They do not. So here I am with my humble little app for DR2.

I'm shipping the alpha to test the main functionalities. Make sure it connects to your controller. Make sure it connects to the game. Make sure bluetooth isn't super broken (I never really use it myself). The force feedback works. All the basics.

In the alpha, there are no settings customization. I'm currently working on it and I don't want to delay alpha for it. The defaults seem reasonable and conservative to me. I list them below. Other than that, enjoy! I hope this improves your game experience. I clocked my best times using dr2ds and I hope you do too :]

Alpha-Only Hardcoded Settings

  • The brake trigger is using "conventional brakes" preset, with 0.5 ff strength. It also has the speed ff at 0.5.
  • The acceleration trigger is using the "constant" preset, with as low a value as possible. It has the suspension fun stuff enabled at 0.25 strength.
  • To exit, you can close the app or press L1+R1. This behaviour will be toggle-able in the settings as well.

WARNING : Assume this alpha will set your house on fire, kill your cat, steal your car, replace your stolen car with a new Chevy Blazer 🤮 , etc.
