The Swiss Food Composition Database contains information on the composition of foods that are available in Switzerland. The data set contains approximately 10,500 foods that have been classified into 19 main and 105 sub categories. The database is operated by the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office.

Version: 5.3

Sources

The data was downloaded from naehrwertdaten.ch and converted to CSV using LibreOffice Calc (Unicode UTF-8, default options), removing the first two header rows of each of the two worksheets.

Note that a Web Services API is also available for accessing this dataset. See documentation (Anleitung) on the Downloads page of naehrwertdaten.ch
