Lantern User Guide
Hi users! Welcome to use Lantern! This GitHub Wiki is written for you.
Lantern is a Network Proxy application providing access rights for those blocked websides.
Most of the country or region has its own Internet Accessibility Control. Governments ask ISPs to build a LARGE firewall , in order to block these 'illegal' visits. With Lantern, you can magically bypass the firewall and connect to these websites directly, just as no limitations.
- Check the version of your Operating System and download correct Lantern binary installer in getlantern/lantern - GitHub. DO NOT download a wrong version and complain about what the f**k this application is when you can't install it.
- After installation, start the application up. Take Microsoft Windows 10 as an example, the running icon should appear in the tray area.
- If the icon is gray at the moment, click on it and select
Connectbutton. Then the icon will be lit up and become blue. - Hooray! Now you can visit anything you want!
For most of the time, Lantern can successfully connected to the server, providing convenience to all users. But in some SPECIAL time, Lantern itself has been blocked either.
So, if you're a frequent wall-bypasser, please change your proxy more often to prevent being blocked. Otherwise, please be patient. We will fix your issues and problems at once.
