A logo similar enough to the original, but unmistakably different, with the different gradient, the "CONTRIBUTING" subtext, and a screwdriver instead of glasses. There are a few differences to the original logo, so I also made an updated version of it I could post in the main docs repo if this is approved.

I also tried a brick background, with a missing brick, and the blue robot holding the brick. While this was a really cool concept, it required too much space, since the brick is kinda thick and the background also had to be visible enough to make sense and not look disjointed. I think it's more important that the Godot logo doesn't look tiny, so instead, I went with a screwdriver, since it's a really thin tool (taking very little space in the circle) that communicates the idea of engineering.

Engineering cap was also suggested, but I didn't try it because the top part of the logo is very important to its design and shouldn't be concealed.

Oohh, I didn't realize this. I think I'll bring back the yellowness, then. Edit: Doned.

I’m not sure how zoomed out this will normally be viewed, but when looking at the diff viewer on my phone, I couldn’t tell what the screwdriver was until I zoomed way in. It’s possible that this icon will be viewed at too small of a size to add any extra things to it like this screwdriver.

(At first, I thought it was a red walkie-talkie with an antenna sticking up until I zoomed in enough to see the subtle colour detail that gave me a clue that it was a screwdriver. I think my brain placed it as a walkie-talkie because of the placement by the mouth.)

Hmm... It's hard to think of anything that'd be more readable and that still communicates the idea as good. A ruler?

I believe the Godot icon itself would need to change; such as adding safety goggles/safety glasses to the face. I may be wrong, but I can't imagine another object being added to this logo that would be readable at a small size...

Goggles... Interesting, I'll give it a shot.
