The second (because type isn't specified);

Type 'DateValue | undefined' is not assignable to type 'DateValue[] | undefined'.
  Type 'CalendarDate' is missing the following properties from type 'DateValue[]': length, pop, push, concat, and 35 more.ts(2322)
