This is a high-level overview of major work underway and planned.

October 2013

  • User dashboard
  • Document upload/converter
  • Annotation filter/search
  • Fix groups/permissions
  • Mobile web views

Rest of 2013

  • Private sandboxes per-institution
  • Groups UX improvements (make it easier to create, manage, join, invite)
  • Add support for image annotation, via annotorious
  • Package Annotator for use with our data store, within other Rails apps.

2014

  • Light table/card sorter
  • Create/save/share annotation sets (layers)
  • Export notes/composition/import cycle
  • Domain-specific features (citation, categorization, tagging)
  • Other media types as needed (video/audio)
