This feels hypocritical to add hot on the heels of telling people they can't add their own referential clothing. This is just as referential as the detective Disco Elysium coats that were rejected. I don't think the 50 hour QM playtime requirement helps either, mostly because I think 50 hour requirements prestige requirements for command roles just sucks in general. I am not opposed to adding this to the game, but I am also not opposed to adding referential items to the game if they fit the context where they're found. The Disco Elysium coats were fine. The Zeon helmet would be fine if the right context were found for it. I don't think it was entirely necessary to remove the Hatsune Miku outfit either. |
i have no preference either way, but i will mention that the de jackets and miku clothes are being reworked to fit in with departmental colours and themes. maybe this can be given the same treatment i am also just a prestige clothing hater in general though so. shrugging |
edit: cc doesnt want to edit the colors on it so i guess this either merges as is or we close it |
i dont care either way but morshu is an rtvs reference in the same way finfin is. |
i believe it is worth mentioning i am all for references — check out my contribution history for this fork — and morshu is an rtvs thing like fin fin, gondal, home depot cock hero, imp plushie, etc. additionally while i do find pretty ample evidence that bycockets historically come in other colors, every famous outfit where someone wears a bycocket is green. (morshu, robin hood, peter pan). i think this is obfuscated and vague in ways that the other clothing items i spoke up against are not |
i think that's a bit of a flimsy reasoning because, like, isn't mira's donation alert during streams still miku, but we're still tuning that one away from miku? i think there's a difference between the idea of something like finfin, a rather obscure character outside of RTVS, or gondal, a fuzzy worm, and something like this which is Well-Known Internet Meme Morshu The Shopkeeper |
ill b honest i literally forgot about miras alerts until now |
i think we are overestimating how much the average internet user is aware of morshu... |
given the RTX morshu meme that went around a while back i don't think that's right |
huh? everybody knows that guy. the top ten morshu results on youtube have like 60 million views all together also i'm still totally cool with removing all prestige requirements. i only ever implemented mine because there was a precedent for that |
#1614 put forward that the miku outfit "encouraged lrp/referential bits that are skirting towards if not directly in violation of our server rules" - i don't see how this is any different from "someone possibly going through all the hoops to get this and to do a rping morshu bit" i don't think youtube is necessarily a good metric, but the most popular morshu videos have 3x the views of the most popular disco elysium videos, to call it a rtvs reference feels disingenuous. this is not a niche thing that rtvs dug up and made into a community thing, this is just broader internet culture |
yeah thats fine |
adds the koridai salesman hat, a 50 hour QM prestige hat
if we r doing justifications on media references: huge time gate to unlock, doesnt outright say "this is morshu's hat" ingame, but additionally i think someone possibly going through all the hoops to get this and to do a rping morshu bit is really funny. also this is just a bycocket
also i hate gray displacements so bad holy shit
