Note that in the current release (1.4.0) of MONAI, there is a bug that leads to a low level memory accumulation issue when using the RandCropByPosNegLabel transform.

We fixed this through these PRs:

• Fix packaging imports in version comparison logic Project-MONAI/MONAI#8347
• Removed outdated torch version checks from transform functions Project-MONAI/MONAI#8359

However, those changes are still on MONAI's dev branch, as they haven't made a new release yet.
Therefore for the time being, you'll need to install MONAI as follows:

pip install 'git+https://github.com/Project-MONAI/MONAI.git@dev#egg=monai'
