There are many fundamental changes in KeeFox 1.5. Please find the first draft of release notes below and let us know on github or in the support forum if you come across any possible bugs or pain points that other users might want to know about (or that we can do something about). Thanks.

Main changes:

  • Improved automatic form filling and submitting
  • Improved "Save password" feature including ability to update an existing password

In a few cases you'll have to change your KeePass entries to get the new automatic form filling to work perfectly.

For more detail, including advice about what to do if your existing login stops working after the upgrade, please see the article on the official website: [During beta testing, see the wiki instead: https://github.com/luckyrat/KeeFox/wiki/en-|-Upgrading-from-KeeFox-1.4 ]

The recent Sourceforge failure has prevented some testing of this version and I've made a change to form filling which could have wide implications if I've got it wrong so please report any regressions since 1.5.3b1 or 1.5.3b2.

Changes since 1.5.3b2: Relevance scores for each login/form combination can not be higher than 0 if 50% or fewer form fields have been matched against a login field.

Known issues in this beta: Not well tested; Some new bits of text haven't been translated to some languages yet.

This is the third KeeFox 1.5 Beta but a bug in the Firefox add-ons system prevents it from being released to existing Beta channel users. You can treat it as if it were ready for widespread beta testing but it is not known when Mozilla will allow existing beta testers to be automatically updated to this version.

Changes since 1.5.2b4: Fixed a bug that in rare circumstances caused the KeeFox button to break until Firefox is restarted; Made a few improvements to UI focus to make various features more intuitive and less annoying.

Known issues in this beta: Some new bits of text haven't been translated to some languages yet.

This is the second KeeFox 1.5 Beta but a bug in the Firefox add-ons system prevents it from being released to existing Beta channel users. If that bug is not resolved before the 3rd release is ready in 7-10 days this release might not ever be automatically distributed but in the meantime you can treat it as if it were ready for widespread beta testing.

Changes since 1.5.2b3: Improved the update password and search filtering features to make them more intuitive

New feature since 1.4.104a1: Search filter allows easier selection of login for current website.

This is a candidate beta build to enable support for e10s (Firefox multi-process).

It's likely that the first beta to be released on AMO will come with a couple of further bug fixes and some updated translations but otherwise should be similar to this release.

There are a few known bugs but hopefully nothing that can't be worked around.

Keep lots of backup versions of your database and be prepared for fundamental features to behave a little differently than in the previous version (hopefully mostly in a good way but that won't hold in 100% of cases).

Note that downgrading to an earlier version of KeePassRPC might cause duplicate UUIDs to be added to your KeePass database. They relate only to the KeeFox tutorial samples so the KeePass repair feature in v2.29 will fix it up easily but it's something to be aware of in case you wonder what causes the warning to appear if you go back to KeeFox 1.4.
