Sample application to centralize and share USER settings, Vault Data Standard custom configuration files, and any other vaulted data set to be distributed and updated on clients.
NOTE - This sample application will retire and no longer provide released binaries in the near future!
Vault 2024 and 2025 added superior workflows and features to leverage the deployment of Inventor templates, Design Data, and Distributed Settings while maintaining User Settings. Thunderdome is NOT COMPATIBLE with the new default feature set and overrides USER settings instead of leveraging the benefits of Distributed and User Settings.
Reasons to retire Thunderdome:
- Vault Professional 2024.2/2025 default features: Download Templates, Design Data; Deploy Distributed Views, Searches, and Shortcuts. Benefits unachievable for Thunderdome:
- Latest Inventor templates and style library configurations without restarting a client
- Latest Presets (Views, Searches, Shortcuts) shared per Vault
- Deriving personal settings by copying Distributed setting types to User settings
- Indicating user overrides
- Leveraging both, Distributed and User Settings
- Applying changes and updates without restarting the Vault Client
Future Reasons to retire Thunderdome
- Vault Professional will add more capabilities that Thunderdome never had
- Join Autodesk Feedback Portal, Project Vault to learn what's next on Deployment workflows.
Reason to keep Thunderdome (for now):
- Configure Data Standard and any other custom folder to capture and deploy
- Transfer settings from Pilot to Production Vaults
