My name is Gabriel, and I am a computer engineer focused on problem-solving through machine learning and software development.
I hold a master's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Pernambuco (UPE), with a focus on computational intelligence (2020), and a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from UPE (2018). My main areas of interest include bio-inspired algorithms, swarm intelligence techniques, and neural networks.
From a software engineering perspective, I am a pragmatic developer with solid object-oriented programming foundations and a passion for functional programming. I have extensive experience with web development in agile, geographically distributed teams, spanning multiple time zones and cultures.
I work at Liferay as a Front-end Engineer. Liferay DXP is a large-scale, widely adopted open-source project that presents complex and rewarding engineering challenges. I currently work on the Platform Experience team, which develops and maintains features across the entire portal, with a focus on consistency, accessibility, and flexibility.
I am also CTO and co-founder at Imogen, a DeepTech startup based in Recife that delivers cutting-edge technology to assisted reproduction laboratories. This role has pushed me to grow beyond engineering β learning to build a business, lead people, and craft disruptive solutions in a highly uncertain environment.
