Ansible for Networks

This Repository contains Playbooks for Networks. Currently it is tested on CentOS 7.6 with  Ansible version 2.9, IOSv15.x, Checkpoint R80 and AWS VPC Security group.

Lab Setup (Prerequisite):

General pre-requisites are to have one Ansible Master/Controller node (Preferably CentOS 7.x, but can be any latest Linux machine) with Ansible 2.9, Python, wget, Pip and Git installed.

1) For AWS VPC (Free Lab) :
        a) Create/Login-into AWS account
        b) Create User with Access key and Secret Key
        c) If you have awscli Installed, then run aws configure and provide credentials. Else export ACCESS Key and Secret Key with variable:
                export AWS_ACCESS_KEY=xxxxxxxxxxxx
                export AWS_SECRET_KEY=xxxxx-xxxxxx
        d) Install Boto3 Libarary on Ansible Controller node with the help of pip:
                pip install boto3
        e) Run Playbook with Ansible-playbook command
        
2) For CheckPoint (Paid Labs):
        a) Create/Login-Into AWS account
        b) Create a Checkpoint firewall instance from Ec2- Marketplace by searching "CloudGuard IaaS Next-Gen Firewall with Threat Prevention"
        c) Select Instance type as c5n.large, with minimum 100Gb disk and default ports opened
        d) Post creation of Instance login into same with admin/admin
        e) Go through default setup and configure same with default permissions. Add users and credentials once prompted.
        f) Enable APIs:
                To configure the API Server:
                1. In SmartConsole, go to Manage & Settings > Blades.
                2. In the Management API section, click Advanced Settings.
                3. Configure the Startup Settings and the Access Settings (Enable APIs).
                4. under startup settings: Select Automatic start to automatically start the API server when the Security Management Server starts. 
                5. Access setting should be "All IP addresses"
        g) Save the configuration
        h) Add entries in inventory file once done
        
   3) For Cisco IOSv15 (Lab on Local System):
        a) Download (link given below) and Install GNS3 (2.1) version "https://www.gns3.com/software.
        b) Second install VMware Workstation pro (link given belo ,version 14 is having some known issues) 
        c) Third install GNS3 VM (link given below)
        d) Now open VMware workstation and import GNS3 VM 
        e) Go to GNS3 GUI, EDIT, PREFERENCE, GNS3 VM --> Tick on Enable the GNS3 VM, apply and save
        f) Install/Add Network Automation appliance (which is having ansible pre-installed) 
        g) Add an ethernet switch (with GNS3 vm, not with local PC) and one cisco IOSv router, also add a nat cloud (which will provide a DHCP IP's to all appliances)
        h) Now on the network appliance (edit /etc/network/interfaces) to have a DHCP IP from NAT CLOUD, stop and start the appliance again and you will see the ip
        i) take the console of the CISCO IOSv and configure IP and hostname and ping the same from Network appliance console

    Post installing softwares and doing configurations, update your Ansible Inventory file propoerly and run adhoc commands and playbooks.
    
    Adhoc commands and Labs for IOS, are included in ios_adhoc.txt
