I have a fear that someone will have installed the science fiction version and I will need to create a mini plugin just to update the date...

Nah, we’ll just downgrade the test instance, should be fine. We just like bleeding edge. Hadn’t realised we travelled 900 years into the future xD

but it has been done before, a few examples in this thread catalyst/moodle-tool_mfa#457
