**クラウド**とは、インターネット経由でアクセスできる世界中に配置されたサーバー群、およびそのサーバー上で実行されるソフトウェアとデータベースを指します。

ローカルのコンピュータやサーバーにデータを保存したりプログラムを実行したりする代わりに、ユーザーはクラウド上のリソースにアクセスしてタスクを実行できます: これは{{glossary("Cloud computing")}}とも呼ばれます。
