Let's start by downloading (or cloning) the project wherever you want. Maybe something like /opt/enhanced-adb.
We need then to create an alias to call our enhanced version instead of the real adb executable file. Add the next line to your ~/.bashrc or (~/.bash_profile if you are using mac os):
alias adb=<project path>/adb_enhanced.py
And that's it!
Just use adb the same way you were using it until now. If several devices are attached, a prompt will ask you to choose a target. If needed, you can still bypass that selection using our good ol' adb -s <identifier> argument.
The only option supported by now is the path to the actual adb executable file, computed at the very first call using the ANDROID_HOME variable, and saved in a configuration file located at ~/.adb-enhanced.ini. That file can be easily updated afterward.
