Currently, on screens taller than they are wide, the map colorbar expands to fill available vertical space while the map itself (given its fixed aspect ratio) shrinks significantly, resulting in an awkward-looking figure that also takes up most of the screen.
Changes proposed:
maxHeightof map figure to be a fraction of available viewport width (hack-y, but seems to work ok?)
