Hi there 👋
I’m Noor — a full-stack engineer working on large-scale search and data systems.
I’ve worked at CERN on both its institutional search platform and the OpenWebSearch initiative, building and operating systems across the full stack — from user-facing interfaces to backend services and distributed data infrastructure.
My background combines frontend and backend development (React, Node.js, Python/Java) with hands-on experience in search and data pipelines — including crawling, indexing, and working with datastores like OpenSearch and ScyllaDB. I’ve also worked with containerised environments (Docker/Podman) and CI/CD workflows to ensure systems are reliable and easy to evolve.
What I enjoy most about full-stack work is connecting layers: designing interfaces that make complex systems usable, while ensuring the backend and data layers are robust and scalable. Having worked close to infrastructure, I bring an understanding of how design decisions at the UI level propagate through the system.
Alongside engineering, my time at the International Labour Organization gave me exposure to working with real-world datasets in policy contexts, which shaped how I think about building systems that are not just functional, but meaningful in how they present and structure information.
I’m curious by nature, enjoy working across disciplines, and like building systems that are both technically sound and thoughtful in their design.
