this PR introduces a couple of general helpers, in particular some mocks for sending across values using Stream/Sink and AsyncRead/AsyncWrite without actual underlying networking. example implementation are with nymnoise (which was the original inspiration) and gateway handshake (which i had to add now which triggered this PR)
