Description

Currently, opentelemetry-api 1.21.0 depends on importlib-metadata<7.0 and >=6.0.

Please add support for importlib-metadata ≥7.0.

I am having the same issue. Is there any particular reason openetelemetry-api is not compatible with >=7.0

Is there an update on this? Looks like this PR is stale for a few weeks but will be merged soon.
