Android app search does not use Tika / does not go to other folders #98
This may be more of a feature request than bug, but I've noticed that searching in the Android app (or OnlyOffice app when connected via WebDav) only seems to act as a filter on the current folder's contents, rather than using the search function as you would on the web UI.
It would be great if the search box in the official OpenCloud app used the full search back end, so you can get matches for files in folders other than the current view, as well as any Tika fulltext results. If it helps, this is what the NextCloud app does, so may be possible to borrow the code...
Yes, this is a blocker for me using opencloud -- the ios search filter allows for searching the tree/space/account/server. Would it be possible to get the same behavior on android?
Hi @guruz i am thinking about trying to implement myself this.
It should be enough to replace the current local/per-folder search with a proper WebDAV REPORT request to the server's search endpoint. Or is there any architectural blocker on the android app am i not seeing?
I don't see any architectural issue, just need to think about a nice way to integrate it into the UI.
Right now, when you press the magnifyng glass the input field hint is "Search this folder"

Hi,
I have the same issue.
When I open opencloud in chrome browser on my phone and "install" it as web app, "searching" fully works in the web app.
For now I have both "installed", because the web app doesn't support "send to".
Please fix the search function in the Android app
Open cloud is great!
Keep up the good work!
🙏

Hi @federicoB thanks for stepping up.
Yes, the web interface is sending to dav/spaces via REPORT.
Also check out how the iOS app does it?
