Reasoning

I'm redirecting this change here on behalf of these team members to ensure everyone added to the shared design collateral instance is a core contributor under a CLA, to ensure the files can be licensed properly.

Just FYI, the Figma instance currently only has full seats on an annual contract, which technically do include access to dev mode, but also grant some other permissions. That being said, since all the files are already open-access, it should be possible to view all the properties for development without requiring accounts on the instance. Hi @saraburns1, yes, I suspect that view access may be sufficient for development-- I'm not directly involved with the project, so I'm not sure of the details. This request came to me from Unicon via email / Slack / Figma access requests.

I'm only involved through the design working group. If the team members at Unicon are core contributors under a CLA or otherwise covered, I'm happy to allocate them seats for the project if the view access isn't sufficient.

Everyone from the Unicon project team is under the CLA but Jesper is the only one on the list designated as Core Contributor. The other 2 front end developers already have View access but it's a blocker for them not to have Dev-level access to Figma.

Got it. @sdaitzman i'm not sure what action you need me to take here. All 3 are covered under the Unicorn CLA but none are CC (Jesper was a cc under 2U but has been removed) and none have an individual CLA signed. If they need to be core contributors then they'll need to go through the regular cc nomination process (here)

@llovell-unicon in case it accelerates things or helps to unblock this, you should be able to make a copy of the open-access files on any Figma instance and use dev mode on that instance as well. In general, access to the Figma instance requires being a CC who is covered by the CLA. I'm going to defer to Axim on access to the shared Figma instance without CC status.

@llovell-unicon @illiphilli @mgwozdz-unicon - can someone outline exactly what the developers are trying to accomplish that they cannot do currently? There is no 'dev access' theres only 'full write access' and we don't assign that permission lightly. Like Sam said, they should be able to make a copy of the file and have all the permissions they need.
