Described here: https://jekyllrb.com/docs/installation/.
On Debian/Ubuntu the steps are:
sudo apt-get install ruby-full build-essential zlib1g-dev
echo '# Install Ruby Gems to ~/gems' >> ~/.bashrc
echo 'export GEM_HOME="$HOME/gems"' >> ~/.bashrc
echo 'export PATH="$HOME/gems/bin:$PATH"' >> ~/.bashrc
source ~/.bashrc
gem install bundler # will install in $HOME/gems
This has been tested succesfully in early 2024 on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS with APT installing ruby 3.0.2p107 (2021-07-07).
