2016 01 25 Warming up
So, I'm officially starting the new iteration of the 3dPrinter, lets hope this time I can make it fully working ;)
This will be an iteration around the existing 3dPrinterV1 so most of the materials will be reused. I'll focus mainly on making a new case for the printer, fix the super bended printbed base, and use the new printhead design. As the base for the new iteration i'll be using the new UlticampyV3 designs and make changes according to the needs.
-> Forked the UlticampyV3 repository and will start to organize it and change it along the way
-> Needs to be more stable and durable. MDF although damn cheap and easy to find and lasercut, is not durable in the long run and it bends/breaks with humidity and use, nothing you should have around for a precision tool
-> So my new possibilities would be
- Plywood: (similar to the ultimaker1) more durable, but cheap plywood can bend with lasercutting and good plywood gets expensive
- Plexiglass: (similar to the ultimaker2) it can get expensive. is in general durable, water proof and lasercuttable ;)
- Acetal and Delrin: never tried them, they seem promising but are harder to find and also expensive. Good link for more info Acetal & Delrin
-> My search for case materials was interrupted when I manage to find a super cheap deal on a 1196x1357x6mm white plexiglass plate on Amazon.de So plexiglass it is, lets hope it's enough for everything.
