This is present even before Marshmellow, in such case Superuser.apk needs to be in /system/app/Superuser/Superuser.apk.
While the 32-bit versions should continue to run on 64-bit machines, having the builds ready is handy for a future where that changes...

app_process hook is obsolete and not recommended. Superuser.apk should be installed as regular application to /data partition. |

General idea is in the future 64-bit devices may need differing hooks since app_process32 may well never be called in privileged mode. Perhaps not yet required, but certainly something to be watching for.
