docs: improve the docstring for from_column()

I recently explored from_column() and noticed the docstrings could be improved, so I created this PR.

By the way, according to the style.text() documentation, a number should be accepted for size=, but it didn’t work in my experiments, and I’m not sure if this is a bug.
