A simple test for it has been included, but apart from the cmake compilation (it's in a different directory with a Makefile)

Reading the shared variable "ticks" is not done in mutual exclusion, although it is a critical section. It is done this way because displaying outdated information regarding the latest progresses is not so worrisome as to cause the entire display function to run in mutual exclusion (what would force the other threads to block more time) |
