Web servers face increasing vulnerabilities and a surge in script attacks, particularly ASP or PHP scripting injections and SQL injection. SQL injection exploits input validation weaknesses by introducing malicious characters, allowing threat actors to manipulate data. This paper explores SQL injection's core principles, execution mechanics, detection methods, and preventative strategies. It also analyzes practical cases, enhancing web security within ASP website platforms. Web applications play a vital role in our digitally-centric world, but they are exposed to various security threats. SQL injection stands out as a pervasive and harmful attack vector that leverages user inputs to execute unauthorized queries and steal sensitive information. This research delves into prevalent SQL injection attack forms, their mechanisms, and an approach to identify such attacks through SQL query analysis. SQL injection remains a critical security concern, with injection attacks ranking high in vulnerabilities. Traditional security strategies rely on static, signature-based IDS rules, but they struggle against unknown or zero-day threats. Machine learning techniques offer promise in detecting unknown attacks, and in our research, we draw data from web application hosts and database servers, achieving accuracy and enhancing system performance.
