This is a personal project I made in Python to practice reading and writing to files. It can be used to keep track of spending and income. The program is run in the command line, and input is stored in CSV files.
You can record transactions, view past transactions in a specified date range, track transactions by spending category, and view how much you have spent in each category. You can also create multiple accounts and track money transfers between accounts. You can view the balance in each account.
WARNING: This is not intended to be used for serious financial tracking or any important financial information.

How It's Made:

Python was used to make this program. I store input in CSV files. A pandas dataframe was used for sorting and summing up category totals and sorting by date range.

In order to run the program, you must have Python (version 3.6 or newer) and the library pandas installed.
- Python can be installed from python.org/downloads, and once you have Python, you can run pip install pandas in the command line.
To run the program, open the command line and move into the directory with the program files, and run main.py. Follow the input as prompted.
Don't delete any files inside the program_files directory, or the program may malfunction.
Once again, this is not intended to securely/permanently store info on your finances, it's just a program I made for fun.

Once again, don't use this for critical info. The data is stored in a CSV file.
If you delete the CSV file, your info is gone. If you delete the CSV file, the output of the program may be incorrect, and the program may malfunction.
