Introduction

The RoboCup Logistics League (RCLL) is determined to develop into a state-of-the-art platform for mobile robotics education and research tackling the problem of flexible and efficient production logistics at a comprehensible size. Being an industry motivated league, it focuses on challenges promoting precise actions and robust long-enduring execution, and further encourages external data sup- ported autonomy.

Rules

The rulebook for the RCLL can be found here.

As a quick summary, in an RCLL game two teams, each consisting of 3 fully autonomous robots, manage the shop floor of a smart factory with static production machines. They compete with respect to the generated value under equal conditions (same customer request and equal sets of production machines).

A semi-autonomous referee computer, called the refbox, acts as a central entity with the following responsibilities:

  • generates field layouts and customer requests arriving over time
  • acts as central communication hub, as it publishes information about the shop floor and processes requests to operate production machines
  • judges the performance of each team by assigning points for production steps and product deliveries
