...that reddit returns a true domain search otherwise
When I was doing some testing I searched vimeo.com and the only few results were from years ago. It isn't documented on the API but you can visit
http://www.reddit.com/domain/vimeo.com.json?sort=new
and get a full result listing, whilehttp://www.reddit.com/api/info.json?url=vimeo.com
gives very few, and old results. Maybe this is something that I am misunderstanding, though?
