Really cool project Dave, and I enjoy following your contributions.
Your code is pretty easy to understand, bottom up. I asked on Facebook if you've looked in to promises, and I was intrigued by this script, so I wanted to provide a version that moves towards promises.
I stuck with your syntax rules through commit c71fa46, but I think the updated form is worth a look.
