Right now it's not practical to use bower to import this as
the less files cannot be imported into a project since they hardcode an @import to bootstrap (in my case the path is different)
the variables cannot be overwritten
I have broken down the less files using the same approach that BS uses - not it is possible to import the individual less files in my global less file in the desired order.
