I started coding when I was 7, as a child in Vietnam. I was always dreaming about doing all crazy things using the computer, including AI. Fast forward to 2014, I started using GitHub after tinkering with my Android smartphone. I began with reverse-engineering to mod ROM, then compiled my own version of the Linux kernel with some tweaks for my phone.

After high school, in 2018, I went to France to study. There, I began my career in machine learning thanks to an internship at Botfuel. One year after that, during COVID, I returned to the same company with an apprenticeship contract. There, I learned many things about language models and chatbots. I worked there for 2 years, and in my last year of school, I moved to Snowpack, a cybersecurity company and started working with low-level system programming, like C, C++, and Assembly.

I graduated in 2023 as valedictorian 🎉. Around the same time, I started tinkering with llama.cpp and open-source LLMs. I was interested in this field thanks to all of my past experiences. One year after my graduation, in summer 2024, I joined Hugging Face 🤗. I'm now a software engineer at Hugging Face, responsible for maintaining the integration between Hugging Face Hub, llama.cpp, and the GGUF model format. I love my work!
