Backup your registry key

1. Run Command Prompt as Administrator.
2. To back up the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT registry key, execute the command reg export HKCR HKCR.reg
3. To back up the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry key, execute the command reg export HKCU HKCU.reg
4. To back up the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry key, execute the command reg export HKLM HKLM.reg
5. To back up the HKEY_USERS registry key, execute the command reg export HKU HKU.reg
6. To back up the HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG registry key, execute the command reg export HKCC HKCC.reg

CVE-2022-30190 Vulnerability Workarounds

Disabling MSDT URL protocol

Run Command Prompt as Administrator.

To back up the registry key, execute the command reg export HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ms-msdt filename

Execute the command reg delete HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ms-msdt /f.

How to undo the workaround

1. Run Command Prompt as Administrator.
2. To restore the registry key, execute the command reg import filename
