  • to import baker address:

    • for testnet:
      • download config from faucet: https://teztnets.xyz/hangzhounet-faucet to a json file (name the file PUBLIC_ADDRESS.json - something like tzXXX.json)
      • run ./baker-account/create_test_baker.sh tzXXXX
    • for mainnet on a ledger: run ./baker-account/import_ledger_baker.sh

Update node

just run ./update_node.sh and it will download the latest binaries and run them

you can pass parameter version to specify the version you want to download

Update to a new protocol

before a new protocol starts, you should already run the protocol binaries so your bakery will be ready. until it starts you need to also run the current protocol binaries.

to update to the new protocol, run ./update/update_protocol.sh $proto, where $proto is built from the version number of the protocol and part of the protocol hash.

Run Current protocol

When updating to a new protocol, you need to run the current protocol binaries in parallel. so we run the next protocol as a service and the current protocol in our shell. you need to run the following commands:

tezos-baker-$proto run with local node /home/$USER/.tezos-node $BAKER_ALIAS
tezos-accuser-$proto run
tezos-endorser-$proto run # will be removed in itacha

where:

  • $BAKER_ALIAS is the alias of the baker account you want to use.
  • $proto is the current protocol.

you can also run ./update/run_proto.sh $proto to run a tmux session of the current protocol.
