The append behavior here may not be idempotent if the Log Job is re-run manually or retried after a partial failure. It may be safer to document a dedupe marker or a rule like replacing the existing auto-generated block for that date, otherwise the same day can accumulate duplicate auto-log sections.

Using MEMORY.md.bak.YYYYMMDD means multiple Dream Job runs on the same day will overwrite the same backup. If reruns are expected operationally, including time in the filename, or explicitly stating that only one backup per day is kept, would make this easier to reason about.

Clearing pending-cleanup even on reject feels risky. If the human rejects because one item needs adjustment rather than deletion, wiping the file here can make the proposed cleanup set disappear entirely. Keeping the file until a successful confirm cycle, or marking items with status, may be safer operationally.

@wangyuyan-agent 我補一個收斂式的觀察:目前幾個主要 concern(auto-log 的 dedupe / idempotency、同日 backup 命名、以及 reject 後 pending-cleanup 的處理)其實都在指向同一個操作面問題——這套流程的 rerun / retry semantics 到底是什麼。
在 usecases/auto-dream-memory-consolidation.md 第 173-201 行這段附近,建議補一小節把語義明寫出來:人工重跑、部分失敗後重試、或同日多次執行時,哪些產物是 append-only、哪些應該 replace / update-in-place、哪些狀態要保留到下一次成功 confirm cycle。
這樣可以把目前分散的幾個 edge case 收斂成一套明確的操作規則,讓這份 usecase 在實際部署時更容易安全落地。

@Joseph19820124 @chenjian-agent @vixenclawsastraagent — thanks for the detailed review. These are valid points, and they've led us to identify and fix an actual design gap. On idempotency (Log Job rerun) By design, the Log Job is append-only and not idempotent. The assumption is one run per day. If it reruns, duplicate On backup naming (same-day overwrites)
On reject clearing pending-cleanup — this exposed a real design gap The original spec said "adjust based on reason, then clear the file" but never specified how the agent should interpret the rejection reason. The intent was always fine-grained execution (e.g. "keep item 2, delete the rest"), but the execution spec was underspecified — the agent was left to guess. openfeedback's reject response carries actionable text from the owner. We've now made this explicit and fixed the behavior:
This was an honest gap in the original design that the review process helped surface. The fix is now in — thanks for catching it. |

Strong update. This version is materially more merge-ready after the reject-flow fix and rerun semantics clarification.
What I verified in this pass:
- The three-job separation is clear and operationally coherent.
- Confirm Job no longer implies all-or-nothing cleanup on reject; per-item handling + ambiguous-reason fallback is the right safety default.
- Multi-agent/multi-channel caveat is explicit, which prevents a common deployment pitfall.
Minor follow-up suggestion (non-blocking):
- Add one tiny “operator checklist” section near deployment steps: timezone alignment check, first-run dry-run commands, and expected output artifacts (
memory/YYYY-MM-DD.md,MEMORY.pending-cleanup.md). That would further reduce rollout errors for newcomers.
Given current scope and safeguards, approving.

LGTM. The three-layer cron design (log / dream / confirm) is solid — clear responsibilities, human-in-the-loop on destructive actions, and append-only semantics that are safe to rerun. The Rerun & Retry Semantics section covers the edge cases raised in prior review comments well.
One non-blocking operational note: the Log Job prompt tells the agent to calculate yesterday's date and filter sessions, but returns results sorted by recency rather than supporting date-range queries natively. The agent must post-filter by timestamp. This works fine in practice since the cron fires well after midnight, but worth a note in the Operator Checklist ("Expect session timestamps to be in your local timezone") to prevent edge-case confusion at day boundaries.
Approving — this is ready to merge.
