Rails adapter for the Qube.
Add this line to your application's Gemfile:
gem 'quber'
And then execute:
$ bundle install
Make available enviroment variables:
QUBER_API_URI
— Qube node URI (http://localhost:5672/api/v1/)QUBER_API_TOKEN
— Qube node authentication token
Set in the Rails config Qube adapter:
# config/application.rb
config.active_job.queue_adapter = :quber
Expose HTTP-endpoint to receive tasks back:
# config/routes.rb
# ...
mount Quber::Rack.new, at: '/_jobs'
# ...
Use as usual job:
$ bin/rails generate job welcome_message
class WelcomeMessageJob < ApplicationJob
queue_as :default
def perform(user)
# Do something later
end
end
Note: when you set queue_as
as :some_name
the Qube will create tube with :some_name
and put the task into this tube.
After checking out the repo, run bin/setup
to install dependencies. Then, run rake test
to run the tests. You can also run bin/console
for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.
To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install
. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb
, and then run bundle exec rake release
, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem
file to rubygems.org.
