Please, just stop. |
@LoneSimba @mwaitzman Do you want to make a few people's lives just a bit better for little-to-no effort? I do, and that's all I'm trying to do with this: I don't want to "turn you gay" [1] nor am I trying to erase white cishet [2] men; I just want to get on with my life knowing I've helped others.
|
It's a minimal change that does not alter the meaning of the text nor does it reduce its comprehensibility but at the same time helps a few people. I'm confident the inappropriate comments will be ignored and this will be merged swiftly. |
If it was originally like that I'd be fine with it and encourage it for the increased efficiency (significantly less letters), but changing it now is just stupid pandering |
I read: "Don't make us have to consider the fact people that aren't identical to us exist. Let us remain in blissful ignorance." Where do you get your information / news? Can you verify it elsewhere? (A habit of mine is to DuckDuckGo the same piece of information, but staying unbiased so results from both sides can appear. Not Google since they probably "customize" your search results)
You read PC, I read respecting others.
"Stupid pandering" that helps make some people feel at home. |
Okay, WOW. I was not expecting to see a bunch of homophobic/transphobic bs today and I really hope this gets merged(I actually noticed this independently when reading the book). |
@mwaitzman @LoneSimba Think about what you have said, but mentally replace "LGBTQ" "enby" "gay" or anything of the sort to "black" or mentally add context that this is racist instead of homophobic or transphobic. We all can agree that racism is bad, right? So is homophobia and transphobia. |
TBH, don't care about racism, i mean, most of the world seem to hate russians anyways, so why should i care? Upd: tho, being enter nation or race here != beign mentally ill, imo. (Yes, I'm stating that all those non-binary, trans and other all-colors-of-rainbow people should be visiting therapists, and those, who wont benefit in any way from selling them drugs/medications or rainbow-colored clothes) |
as a trans person, i do indeed visit a therapist and visit trained professionals, as any sane person would know, you can't just rely on meds to stay sane, you need someone to talk to as well |
@LoneSimba ... I am agender, asexual, panromantic and the gayest person you can find. tbh, I'm having trouble reading what you just said as I don't even understand what you are trying to say. Except that what I can understand, you are saying that you don't care about racism, homophobia, and transphobia. ALL OF THOSE THINGS, BY DEFINITION, EMOTIONALLY HURT PEOPLE. Also, LGBTQ != needs therapy. LGBTQ means we identify a certain way, not that we act in such a way that we need mental help. |
Gender-related discussion or not, using "they" just makes more sense. It's much more efficient than saying "his or her" as some have pointed out here and it just feels more gramatically correct. I don't get why this PR hasn't already been merged and people are instead arguing |
You may think so. What I'm saying, is that people are biologically either a male or a female. Either XX or XY. If your mental state doesn't match - then it's a health issue. Most likely, caused by some traumatic experiences. And i see supporting this instead of treating as a crime. |
That is true |

i've tried to stay as fucking neutral as i could with this but you're just coping at this point |
