Folks have pointed out that this could would be more useful if it were apache+MIT license. This would open up @fabiobozzo & @smoyer64 to be able to take this code up to a 1.0, and would open up the number of projects that can rely on it.
As the author of ~99% of this code, I'm totally down with this, and vote to change the license moving forward, with past versions remaining under the GPL license for anyone who needs it as such.
