Thanks for the application. I'm happy to mark it as ready for review. However, I'm not sure I'm willing to support it since there are already websites like, for example, https://parachains.info/ or https://wiki.polkadot.network/docs/build-open-source What is unique about your solution? Also, I recommend applying for treasury funding instead, which usually funds these kinds of projects. The grants program mostly supports technical development and research, and the technical aspects of this application are not necessarily something unique or new.

@itssravi To me it looks like this is mostly a CMS with some enhancements - but the more significant portion of the workload would likely lie in content creation and moderation, marketing and design efforts as well as other non-implementation related tasks. Hence, I'm with @Noc2 here - I believe treasury funding would be better suited for this kind of project.

@itssravi thank you for the grant application. I think we have a similar project in the ecosystem. Could you please compare your application with this site (https://awesomepolka.org/)? This one was supported with a grant some time ago (#1587). Let me know the differences between your proposal to this other site.
Hey @dsm-w3f Sorry to chip in this conversation. I have also shared this thought with other polkadot community members. The person behind awesome polka has requested funds from 4 different ecosystems (AwesomeAave AwesomeCompound same design format. How can you build something and you will be trusted if you are building the same platform for different ecosystems. The website has literally nothing while the awesome dot repository consists of projects from Polkadot and Kusama Treasury, W3fgrants etc. Awesome Polka doesn't gets updated regularly and you will see a blank when you go to defi and everything. I also request @itssravi to add Integrations to Awesome Dot as you can see that Polkadot is integrating with different web2 companies it will be really good thing to show how Polkadot is being adopted by many major tech giants. Hoping that this project regulary will be updated regularly and with this minimalistic design I am confident that this will be one stop shop for people who wants to join Polkadot ecosystem. |

Thanks a lot for the application and all the effort you put into this. The grants committee decided today not to go ahead with the application. Let me know if you have any questions, and feel free to apply for another grant. |
Thank you for your feedback, @Noc2, @takahser, and @dsm-w3f. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify the unique aspects of our project and its alignment with the Polkadot ecosystem.
We hope this provides clarity on our project's objectives and its alignment with the Polkadot ecosystem. We are open to further discussions and feedback to ensure that our proposal aligns with the goals and objectives of the grants program. |
@itssravi thank you for asking our opinion. In my opinion, the proposed system is more a content management system (CMS) than a way to catalog projects from Polkadot, such as Awesome sites usually do. As you mentioned, there are other sites that already do that, and the value proposition of an on-chain CMS for storing Polkadot projects-related content doesn't look to add much more value than the other options that already exist. Feel free to disagree with my opinion. I wish you the best of luck in your next grant application. |
