Project Abstract

Please replace these instructions with a brief description of your project summarising key points (1-2 paragraphs).

If your application is a follow-up to a previous grant, please mention which one in the first line of the abstract and include a link to previous pull requests if applicable.

Grant level

  • Level 1: Up to $10,000, 2 approvals
  • Level 2: Up to $30,000, 3 approvals
  • Level 3: Unlimited, 5 approvals (for >$100k: Web3 Foundation Council approval)

Application Checklist

  • The application template has been copied and aptly renamed (project_name.md).
  • I have read the application guidelines.
  • Payment details have been provided (Polkadot AssetHub (DOT, USDC & USDT) address in the application and bank details via email, if applicable).
  • I understand that 30% of each milestone will be paid in vested DOT, to the Polkadot address listed in the application.
  • I am aware that, in order to receive a grant, I (and the entity I represent) have to successfully complete a KYC/KYB check.
  • The software delivered for this grant will be released under an open-source license specified in the application.
  • The initial PR contains only one commit (squash and force-push if needed).
  • The grant will only be announced once the first milestone has been accepted (see the announcement guidelines).
  • I prefer the discussion of this application to take place in a private Element/Matrix channel. My username is: @_______:matrix.org (change the homeserver if you use a different one)

Hi @ArtEMpress thanks for the application, however you are trying to modify the application template itself. Instead, can you please copy the template and create a new file (in the applications folder) with the title of your project? i.e. vanity-bunny.md or something similar.

Additionally, please fill out the above checklist and also select the appropriate level for the grant. Thanks!

@ArtEMpress ah ok thanks for letting me know. In that case, maybe its easier to ask if you can elaborate a bit here on what you want to build? As the W3F classic grants program is a technical one, so typically they include some sort of software development. Is the application primarily for creating the NFT collection? But not hosting it or creating a platform?

Hi @ArtEMpress thanks for your explanation, much appreciated. In this case, I don't believe the W3F grants program is a great fit for this project, as we are a technical program that aims to fund Polkadot core tech & tooling, and W3F doesn't typically collaborate through partnerships.

To answer your question, it sounds like building an NFT platform wouldn't be needed in this case since you have already built the collection and are looking for a place to house it. In your case, I would recommend checking out the various NFT platforms built on Polkadot. For example, KodaDot's Artist Ambassador Program might be a better fit, as it offers many benefits for new NFT artists, such as financing minting costs, collaboration including spotlighting & promoting your collection, etc.

Let me know if this sounds good to you.

Hi @ArtEMpress you can check our wiki for more resources and see other grants programs in our ecosystem. I'm not sure which ones are geared towards NFT collections specifically, but generally I would recommend checking with some of the parachains that support NFTs, such as Astar network.

Thanks again for your time in applying, and I will go ahead and close this PR, but let me know if you have further questions.
