Project Abstract

This application is a follow for a previously terminated grant named Polkasearch
Opentribe aims to become a discovery platform where users can explore Grants, Bounties, Jobs, Tools, and Educational material for the Polkadot/Substrate ecosystem, all under one roof.

Grant level

• Level 1: Up to $10,000, 2 approvals
• Level 2: Up to $30,000, 3 approvals
• Level 3: Unlimited, 5 approvals (for >$100k: Web3 Foundation Council approval)

Application Checklist

• The application template has been copied and aptly renamed (project_name.md).
• I have read the application guidelines.
• Payment details have been provided (Polkadot AssetHub (USDC & DOT) address in the application and bank details via email, if applicable).
• I understand that an agreed upon percentage of each milestone will be paid in vested DOT, to the Polkadot address listed in the application.
• I am aware that, in order to receive a grant, I (and the entity I represent) have to successfully complete a KYC/KYB check.
• The software delivered for this grant will be released under an open-source license specified in the application.
• The initial PR contains only one commit (squash and force-push if needed).
• The grant will only be announced once the first milestone has been accepted (see the announcement guidelines).

I think we have a lot of initiatives going on currently which cover all aspects you mentioned. These initiatives are quite well funded in comparison to what we pay in a level one grant. Did you do some research about existing projects that are trying to achieve similar goals? It would be great if you could explain what the benefit of this "all under one roof" approach really is in comparison to the sum of all the existing projects.

I feel like we have enough projects going on for the subjects you try to cover.

Hey @dotgraphic1 ,
thank you for your application once again. Sadly we are under the impression internally that all the needs that this application wants to address are already being addressed by the various projects and initiatives that have been launched in the meantime. Ideally this aggregation of grants, jobs, educational material etc. will be achieved within the Polkadot wiki or other Polkadot documentation. We sadly chose not to fund your project.
