Testing showed that on iOS the Barcode Scanner may crash if run on iOS with additional configuration options as permitted by PR #250.
These changes should permit backwards compatibility for projects supplying an alternative overlay Xib on iOS while also adding the code there to support future configuration options should they be needed.
And, of course, preventing said crash.
