allows for the use of a sidebar split instead of a floating window. the original floating window behaviour is maintained and set as the default in config.
adds config options for floating or attached with right or left side and width

Wow, looks great. I would like to have this option as well.

Just installed your branch waldnzwrld thanks for your work on it. I'm still having some weird behavior trying to quit out of the floating window or the split pane. I haven't had time to debug it but wondering if you all have had similar experiences.

Hey @garrettkrohn my workflow is as follows

  • Use the hotkey to open the pane (leader CA)
  • Use pane navigation to go back to my working window while leaving the cursor chat open (My pane navigation is set to ctrl+h to go left a pane, ctrl+l to go right a pane, yours may be set differently but it's an nvim config, not related to this plug)
  • While in the working pane I can close the cursor chat with leader CA
  • If I use leader ca again my previous chat is reopened so all of the context still exists
  • while in the chat pressing ctrl+c twice will close the chat (you will need to press enter once afterward)

My branch may not smooth out the wonkiness of closing a chat, but it does allow you to continue working while the chat is open, and to have a persistent chat window. Generally I don't need to fully close a chat often, I just don't always need it open, and I like that when I reopen the chat my history is persisted
