Would you mind adding:

Suggested change

?

Version will likely be very old, but better than nothing as a start.

@havogt @msimberg Is this PR still a thing?

  • If you need cdo removed, we'll need to create a different uenv, not remove it from icon/25.2.
  • I don't see any issue for adding aws-ofi-nccl as long as the original libfabric is still picked by default when we build icon. Otherwise, same as for cdo, we need a new uenv.

I can't speak for cdo, but for aws-ofi-nccl I can wait for a uenv based on spack 1 with newer package versions (and creating a new 25.2 with old versions of nccl etc. is not useful to me anymore).

cdo is only removed because installation is broken (I guess in main), but I don't want to spend time fixing it. Unrelated, I will try Python 3.13 and if that works would like to get a new uenv with that version as default for icon4py use-cases.
