About The Pull Request & Why it's Good for the Game

GENERAL:

  • changed what comes from standard and abnormal eggs. In short, all combat castes are in standard, all supports are in abnormal. This is to help with natural team composition, which currently is heavily skewed towards support.
  • web passage no longer takes damage from fires and heat. Fires REALLY counter spiders right now. The atmos blocker shouldnt get broken by atmos I dont think. Flamethrowers are still really good against spiders, just no longer an instant win button.
  • all player-controlled spiders can no longer hurt each other. You can still hurt AI-controlled spiders. I like the idea of infighting, but lets be real, biting each other is usually a missclick.
  • web spikes are no longer tinted red. Should make them less obvious.

STANDARD EGGS:
Guard:

  • 120 health (from 160)
  • raised speed to tangler-levels
  • removed the web effigy
  • 30 obj dmg (from 45)
  • notes: Makes it the Average. Doesn't excel at anything, but isnt bad with anything either.

Tank:

  • 300 health (from 500)
  • 25-30 dmg (from 5)
  • 30 obj dmg (from 15)
  • can no longer self heal
  • can no longer make web passages and reflective webs
  • no longer has a burn damage resistance
  • notes: An attempt to make them less boring to play. They trade some movement speed for health. In practice, they are an excellent guard sidegrade.

Viper:

  • 80 health (70 in the balance PR)
  • reduced move speed to hunter values
  • notes: Literally the Hunter but with viper venom and fluff. Spiders do not need two of the same. As such, Hunter is DEAD.

ABNORMAL EGGS:
Ambusher:

  • 100 health (from 125)
  • hunter move speed
  • 5-10 dmg (from 25-30)
  • injects 5u of staminatoxin on bite. Enough to stun on 3rd bite (4th with less tight timing).
  • 30 obj dmg (from 45)
  • gave them a ranged snare (30s cooldown). Made it unable to go through structures too.
  • notes: An attempt to make them more interesting. They are now a more combat-based support that preys on bad teamwork, awareness and positioning.

Scout:

  • 80 health (copied from the current rebalance PR)
    notes: I'd say its pretty much perfect. It covers its niche amazingly.

Nurse:

  • 80 health (copied from the current rebalance PR)
  • 20 health healed per (copied from the current rebalance PR)
  • gets the web effigy
  • notes: A defensive ability to make it a tad more engaging to play.

Tangle:

  • 120 health (80 in the rebalance PR)
  • 5-10 dmg (from 1)
  • removed acid injection
  • 50 obj dmg (from 40)
  • can now make reflector webs
  • reflector webs are now on a 60s cooldown
  • notes: Makes it tankier, so it can be around frontlines more. Acid injection was a pretty nothing gimmick. Gets reflector webs for fun plays.

ENRICHED EGGS:
Breacher:

  • 120 obj dmg (from 60)
  • can now seal webs
  • can now make web passages
  • notes: It specializes in destruction, this means they can break windows and airlocks in similar time as walls. Better webs to help fix what it broke and give it more stuff to do during downtime.

Tarantula:

  • gets thermal vision now
  • buffed speed to tank levels
  • 50 obj dmg (from 100)
  • removed the faster web-laying speed
  • can no longer make hardened webs
  • charge wind-up time reduced to 1s (from 1.5)
  • charge cooldown increased to 15s (from 6)
  • notes: This should make it an actual threat now, which it really wasnt before.

Mother:

  • gets xray vision
  • gets the web effigy
  • notes: They really should know whats happening around them. Web effigy for escapes.
