Web Annotation is back! Again!! A quick history of web annotation and the new Web Annotation spec at the W3C.

The Web Annotation Data Model can be serialized in JSON-LD. The protocol (still in early stages) is using some ActivityStreams 2.0 stuff (or is planned to) for collections and paging. It also uses the Linked Data Platform for CRUD operations--for which I have very early code built on Apache CouchDB...'cause that's how I roll. 😉
